Skyro brings hope, happiness, and holiday spirit to National Children’s Hospital

In the season when families gather, dreams feel lighter, and every small kindness matters a little more. Skyro, a reliable SEC-registered lending app in the country, chose to spend its Christmas giving back to those who need warmth the most, the brave young patients of the National Children’s Hospital. Through SkyroShares, the company’s initiative dedicated to creating meaningful community moments and together with its celebrity ambassador Dennis Trillo, Skyro embraced the true meaning of the holidays: to bring joy, comfort, and companionship to children and families navigating some of the hardest days of their lives.

“Skyro’s mission goes beyond lending, our aim is to give hope and happiness to many more Filipinos, especially to communities who need extra care. Through this holiday initiative, we’re able to uphold that mission by creating joyful moments with the children,” shared Nasim Aliev, Skyro co-founder and co-CEO.

He added that Christmas reminds us that real happiness does not come from material things, but from the compassion we extend to others, “It also comes from compassion, connection, and giving time to others.”

For ambassador Dennis Trillo, the experience was deeply personal. Spending time with the young patients allowed him to see the season in a different light, “Getting to spend time with the young patients of National Children’s Hospital gave me a renewed sense of hope. As young as they are, they showed me what it means to live every day with happiness no matter your circumstance.”

The family- and community-centered celebration initiative became a moment of light for the patients and their loved ones. Skyro employees visited approximately 240 pediatric patients from departments that included OB, Neonatal, A&B, Cancer, Respiratory, COVID, Calio/Nephro, Surgery, and PICU/NICU. Through simple conversations and shared lunch, each interaction allowed the children to feel seen, valued, and cared for.

"We're grateful to Skyro for letting the young patients and their families experience the true spirit of Christmas -- a season full of love and togetherness. We hope the experience gave them strength and hope throughout their recovery journey,” said Celine Bejino, Medical Social Service at National Children’s Hospital.

Beyond spending time with the young patients, Skyro extended meaningful support amounting to over ₱600,000 in donations that will help sustain their needs even after the holidays. The donations included Christmas baskets to help families enjoy a warm celebration, medical nutrition support such as specialized milk for cancer patients, and essential hospital supplies like oxygen support, suction machines, and tracheostomy tubes — resources that directly aid in the children’s healing and comfort.

Skyro employees also united through the SkyroShares’ toy donation drive, ensuring that the children received gifts chosen especially for them. On top of this, Skyro offered cash assistance for uncovered medicines and transportation support for patients needing help to return home after treatment, a gesture meant to ease the small but heavy burdens that families silently carry.

The heartfelt activity is part of Skyro’s continuing commitment to uplift Filipino families by empowering them through simple, fair, and user-friendly financial tools and by showing up for communities that need compassion the most. This year’s CSR program stands as a reminder that kindness, when shared, can bring healing not only to those who receive it, but also to those who give it.
