Every great Filipino business, no matter how small or quiet its beginning, is built on one thing: a dream big enough to push forward, grow, and take shape.
But sometimes grit alone is not enough. Sometimes, a dream needs someone to believe in it, open a door, and say: “Kaya mo ‘yan. Let’s grow together.”
This is the story of three entrepreneurs — Kate Luengas of Davao, Ricky Concepcion of Bulacan and Reychelle Abelida of Bacolod, whose small beginnings were driven by determination, resourcefulness, and the courage to start. And how, at the moment they needed it most, the right partnership turned their momentum into something even bigger, helping their hustle transform into real growth.
While many businesses paused during the pandemic, 21-year-old Kate Luengas did something bold – she opened Kate’s iGadgets in Davao City.
“People were shocked because of my age,” Kate shared. “But I explained how I started, na may achievements naman ako. Hindi ito sabi-sabi lang. Meron silang makikita.”
What began as a small online shop quickly gained traction. With lockdowns in place, customers were looking for safer, more convenient ways to buy gadgets, and Kate delivered, literally. She offered door-to-door deliveries at a time when few businesses could.
Her energy, initiative, and willingness to adapt helped her stand out. What some saw as a disadvantage, her age, became part of her edge.
Before partnering with Skyro, Kate’s shop only accepted cash payments. But as demand grew, so did the need for flexible payment options.
“That’s when nagboom talaga yung Kate’s,” she said after joining Skyro. “Naging malaki yung impact ni Skyro sa business namin.”
With Skyro’s Product Loans and the support of a dedicated agent, Kate was able to offer installment options that brought in new customers and encouraged repeat buyers.
A year after opening her first store, Kate now operates 20 branches in and beyond Davao, a growth story that started with courage, timing, and the right partner.
Before Raon Point became a familiar name in Bulacan, it was a 40-square-meter space and a man who believed in steady, honest growth.
With years of experience as a promodiser and sales agent, Ricky Concepcion understood customers deeply – from how they decide to buy, to what their households truly need.
“Marami din po kaming naging doubters,” he recalled. “Pero nagpatuloy kami kasi marami ding nagtitiwala.”
Through consistent effort and hands-on work, Ricky slowly transformed Raon Point into a trusted appliance store in the community.
As the business grew, Ricky knew customers needed more flexible ways to pay. While Raon Point already offered other financing services, Skyro stood out.
“Ang kagandahan po nito,” he explained, “yung community namin sanay sa ibang financing service. Pero dahil may Skyro na kami, nababalanse namin.”
Skyro’s real-time payments made operations smoother and more predictable.
“Maganda si Skyro kasi real-time dumadating yung payment sa amin,” Ricky said. “Kaya sabi ko, okay talaga ito.”
Today, Raon Point has expanded into 20 stores across Bulacan, proof that growth doesn’t always come from rushing, but from choosing partners that understand both the business and the community.
In Bacolod, Reychelle Abelida started RF Chein Gadgets while balancing her life as a third-year college student.
She began by reselling smartphones to classmates. What started as a small campus hustle slowly grew into something more meaningful, a business built on effort, reliability, and grit.
“We can’t control the opinions of others,” Reychelle shared. “But that motivated me to show what I can really do and offer.”
From selling between classes, RF Chein Gadgets grew into a full-fledged store with a loyal customer base.
As demand increased, fellow entrepreneurs began pointing Reychelle toward Skyro.
“Maganda yung offers ng Skyro,” she said. “At ang dami kong nagiging repeat clients na nagpapa-installment through Skyro.”
Skyro’s Product Loans helped her serve more customers while planning for long-term growth. Today, RF Chein Gadgets operates inside 888 Bacolod Chinatown Mall, where repeat buyers continue to return through Skyro installment options.
As their businesses expanded and recorded double-digit sales growth, Kate, Ricky, and Reychelle reached the same question:
How do you grow when customers need flexible payment options without sacrificing trust?
That’s where Skyro came in.
Skyro is a reliable, SEC-registered lending app offering Buy Now, Pay Later options such as Product Loans for partner merchants. These come with 0% interest, 0 down payment, fast approval, and full transparency. Skyro also reports credit activity to help customers build their financial history.
For small businesses, Skyro became more than a payment option, it became a pathway to sustainable growth.
Their journeys are more than success stories. They are reminders of what Filipino entrepreneurs can achieve with the right support.
Kate encourages fellow business owners to explore the partnership. “Dapat i-try nila kasi ang okay sa Skyro, inaalagan talaga nila yung mga merchant partners nila, and they offer valuable advice on how to improve sales.”
Ricky agrees. “Makikita talaga nila na mas gaganda yung business nila.”
For Reychelle, the partnership opened doors she once only imagined. “They will help you boost your business and create a bigger world for you and your customers.”
Without a doubt, the journeys of Kate’s iGadgets, Raon Point, and RF Chein Gadgets reflect Skyro’s mission in action: empowering Filipino entrepreneurs and helping more Filipinos bring their dreams within reach.
As Skyro continues to expand its partnerships with entrepreneurs across the country, Iya Lelyanova, Head of Marketing, shares how the company stays grounded in its purpose, “Skyro is committed to empowering Filipino entrepreneurs and the communities they serve. By making credit more accessible, transparent, and rewarding, we help partner merchants grow their businesses and enable customers to reach the products and experiences they’ve long hoped for."
